Abstract

1,202,567. Gloves. MAPA S.A. 22 Nov., 1967 [23 Nov., 1966], No. 53187/67. Heading A3V. A glove of plastics or elastic material for either hand has one or several corrugations in the area of the thumb. These are preferably longitudinal and cover the edge and part of the sides of the glove (see Fig. 5) the corrugations may extend along the gauntlet and corresponding corrugations may be formed in the region of the little finger. The glove has a band at A of narrow ridges which may be turned over to form a gutter to prevent liquids running along the glove and down the arms of the wearer. Further embodiments have corrugations surrounding the thumb only, spreading fan-like from the top of the thumb to its base, or there may be corrugations from the hollow of the thumb to the thenar eminence and also transverse corrugations along the line formed by the phalanges with the metacarpus. The non- corrugated surface may be formed with ridges of flattened sinusoidal shape as shown in Fig. 4 which may make a zig-zag pattern (see line Z-Z<SP>1</SP>).
