1,202,496. Photographic flash and shutter synchronization. EASTMAN KODAK CO. May 24, 1968 [May 26, 1967], No.24863/68. Heading G2A. A photographic camera having an electronic shutter speed control circuit comprises an RC. member 3, 2 and a holding magnet 5, and a flash attachment connectible to a common battery. Premature closing of the shutter due to ignition of a flash lamp is obviated by means of a capacitor 7 connectible in parallel with the holding magnet. The circuit shown comprises a photo-resistor 3, an amplifier and trigger device 4 and three resistors to discharge capacitor 2 after use, 10 giving a shutter speed of 4 milliseconds when photoresistor 3 is not illuminated and 13 to counteract decrease in capacitance of capacitor 7. Flash cubes or bulbs may be used and switches 8 and 9 may be closed by means of a control member actuated by fitting of the flash lamp in its holder.
