Abstract

1,202,387. Rocking chairs. G. R. SMART. 23 Oct., 1968 [27 Oct., 1967], No. 48912/67. Heading A4J. In a rocking chair, in which arm-rests 7 are secured to a base frame 6, flat undersurfaces of the seat roll on convex guides 11. Rolling contact is maintained by coil springs 5 on rubber blocks (27, Fig. 4, not shown). Reference is made to using a lever-actuated locking device, for holding the seat at a number of fixed inclinations. A collapsible footstool may be stowed under the seat.
