Abstract

1,199,542. Mattresses. M. HELLER. 14 March, 1969, No. 13537/69. Heading A4M. A bedstead or like support comprises a rectangular, rigid frame a which supports a first inextensible, resiliently flexible member b extending over the greater part of the length of the frame and a second, inextensible resiliently flexible member c extending widthwise of the frame a at the centre of the first member b, and includes resilient tension elements d which are substantially larger than the width of the members b, c, which they connect to the frame a, the middle parts of the sides of the frame a being free from attachment with the elements d over a substantial part of the length of the frame. The members b, c may be secured together. The elements d may comprise coil springs or rubber bands or cards. In another embodiment (Fig.2) the middle portions of the longitudinal sides of the frame are upwardly concave.
