Abstract

1,198,981. Building panels, roofs. N. V. BULPIN. 26 July, 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 45285/65. Headings E1B, E1A and E1W. A prefabricated building panel 10 comprises a number of interfitting metal or reinforced plastics U-sections members 11, 12, 13, 14, welded together at 27, filling material 28 which may be gypsum waste, cardboard or expanded polystyrene, and metal perimeter channels 29 attached by welding. The channels of adjacent panels which are welded together may have outwardly extending flanges which receive a sealing strip. Channels 29 may be provided along the top and bottom edges to form a complete frame for the panel. The panels may have an aperture for a window or a chimney. In roofs .pairs of panels are pivoted to opposite sides of a ridge beam and their upper edges covered by a sealing strip, the lower edges being adapted for connection to the top of a wall.
