Abstract

1,198,758. Hair treating device. J. T. SESTITO. 14 Aug., 1968 [13 Nov., 1967], No. 38846/68. Heading A4V. A device for separating a lock of hair into several strands for subsequent treatment (e.g. colouring or bleaching) comprises a row of co-planar hooks with parallel shanks supported by a backing. A series of wire hooks are inserted or moulded into a backing 12, which is preferably the back of a conventional comb 13. Alternatively, the hooks may be formed integrally with the backing, of a plastics material. The invention also relates to a method for clouring or bleaching hair which is separated into a plurality of strands with the device.
