Abstract

1,197,732. Roller shutters. JOHN BOOTH & SONS (BOLTON) Ltd. 12 Aug., 1968 [11 Aug., 1967], No. 36998/67. Heading E1J. The roller shutter described in Specification 1,197,731 is provided with one or more bracing bars 26 to aid the shutter panel in withstanding wind pressures and other disturbing forces, one end of each bar being pivoted at 27 to the framework or roller housing 20 while the other end of each bar is slidalble in a slot 28 in the guide bar 21, so as to travel along the slot as the panel is being wound or unwound. The brace 'bars 26 may be provided in pairs, the bars of a pair being on either face of the shutter panel or alternatively each bar may consist of two knuckle-jointed bars the ends of which are secured to the housing 20 and the guide bar 21 respectively.
