Abstract
1,197,010. Heat exchange tubes. A. H. Mc- ELROY. 31 Dec., 1968 [29 March, 1968], No. 61925/68. Heading F4S. [Also in Division B3] Fin strip 40 of generally L-shaped crosssection is wound helically on to a length of heat exchange tubing 22, adjacent turns of the fin strip being in deformable engagement with one another. The flange portions 40A, 40B of adjacent turns overlap as shown. The radially outwardly extending portion of the fin strip is tapered. A method and apparatus for making the finned tube is described (see Division B3).
