[Also in Divisions C6-C7] A coating material for electrophoretic deposition from aqueous solution is produced from safflower oil, soja oil, and Portuguese balsam rosin which are esterified in circulating xylene which is then distilled off in vacuo, the result being cooled and having added thereto under various conditions maleic anhydride vinyltoluene, acrylic acid, di-tert.-butylperoxide, lauryl mercaptan, ethanol, trimethylolpropane, butylglycol and di-isopropanolamine. The resultant material is diluted with water to about 10% solids content by weight to produce the electrodeposition bath.
