Abstract

1,196,390. Cooling electric transformers. KEEPRITE PRODUCTS Ltd. 11 Feb.. 1969, No. 7371/69. Heading F4S. The radiator tubes 15 of an electric transformer tank 2 are of U-form, each comprising two finned tubes 15, 16 extending horizontally from upper and lower headers 8, 9 respectively and connected together by a return bend 17, and the headers 8, 9 are connected by duets 10, 12 to a liquid outlet 3 and inlet 4 respectively in the tank, both headers being at a substantially higher level than the inlet 4. One or more fans are located beneath the tubes 15 to blow ambient air upwardly thereover and the duct 12 has a pump for circulating the cooling liquid, e.g. oil, through the tank and heat exchanger. The tubes are arranged in one or more banks and inside, outside, and internal cross-sectional area measurements of the tubes in one row are specified.
