Abstract

1,193,662. Mineral-mining installation. MASCHINENFABRIK MONNINGHOFF. 13 June, 1967 [1 Aug., 1966], No. 27325/67. Heading E1F. A mineral-mining installation involves a drum type getting machine having a cutter drum 20 rotatably supported about a horizontal axis on the free end of a vertically swingable arm 21 positioned at one end of a drive motor-containing bodly of the machine, which is traversable to and fro along the full length olf tracks formed 'by the sides of a trough 5 that is of U-shaped cross section, in plan of substantially L configuration, and houses an endless chain scraper conveyer 6 into which mined mineral is passed from the cutter drum and from the floor by appropriate placing of the picks on the drum, by appropriate placing of a deflector 24 on said body of the machine and a floor level ramp 8 secured to the face olf the track leg extending, during use of the installation, parallel to a face being mined thereby. The trough and the conveyer are built from detachably interconnected component lengths. As the machine 5, which is hauled by a chain along the tracks of which the goaf side track is higher than the face side track, approaches either end of the tracks it operates a limit switch 26 or 26a that causes reversal of the direction of travel of the machine with simultaneous change in the elevation of the cutter drum and, if appropriate, advance of the installation on actuation of the double acting rams 9 thereof.
