Abstract

1,193,021. Parachute harness. O. W. NEUMARK. 15 Feb., 1968, No. 7356/68. Heading A3V, A parachute harness including a seat portion 10 and adapted for securement around the body and over the shoulders of the wearer 11, 13, 16, is characterized in that the seat portion and shoulder strap portions (or lift webs detachably connected to the latter) are provided at opposite sides with rings or links 20, 21 through which an adjustable cord or webbing loop 22 can be passed, this loop being to receive the feet of the wearer and to allow him to assume a near-supine position. The links 20, 21 may be D-rings located on the harness by fabric bands. A second loop 23 may be provided to assist the placing of the feet in loop 22. The harness may be incorporated in a flexible envelope adapted to enclose the body of the wearer, the wall of which may be of heat insulating material and/or inflatable, Fig. 8 (not shown).
