Abstract

1,192,632. Air conditioning systems. CONNOR ENG. CORP. 17 May, 1967 [2 June, 1966; 20 March, 1967], No. 22971/67. Heading F4V. A plenum chamber 1 in an air conditioning system is supplied with air through an inlet 8 controlled by a damper 26 and has a valve or damper 5 controlling an outlet, the valve 5 being controlled by a pneumatic thermostat 2 in the room to be air conditioned. If the valve 5 is partly closed by the action of the thermostat pressure builds up in the plenum and this pressure increase is sensed by a pressure regulator 10 which via an on/off switch 12 causes the inlet damper 26 to partly close. An air line 14 (at 15 p.s.i.) supplies the force to adjust the dampers, the thermostat being of the leakage type in which the amount of air leakage is dependent upon the temperature. A heater 17 is controlled by a valve 16 also dependent upon the thermostat 2. A grille may be fitted over the outlet 5. The heater may operate by hot water or by electricity . In a modification the valve 5 may have two series of outlets, one series operating automatically and the other series manually.
