Abstract

1,191,290. Strip fastenings; releasable hinge. AEROLEX PRODUCTS Ltd. 26 Nov., 1968 [29 Nov., 1967], No. 54374/67. Headings E2F and E2S. A connector comprises two co-operating members 10, 17. Member 10 has four U-shaped slotted channel elements 22 to 25 each having a region 28, Fig. 3, which is wider than a region 29. Member 17 has cylindrical projections 32 so dimensioned with respect to the channels that when received in the latter in an assembled condition they cannot pass from the regions 28 to 29. The projections have between them smaller diameter cylindrical intermediate portions 33 capable of insertion edgewise into one of the channels via its region 29 into region 28 to align the members 10, 17 in an intermediate condition with one of the projections 32 disposed in the space the adjacent ends of region 28 of two channels. It is then possible to effect relative movement of members 10, 17 in the linear direction of the aligned channels to the assembled position in which the projections 32 lie one within each of the regions 28 of the channels and each intermediate portion 33 lies between the channels. A manually releasable catch 40 is provided to retain members 10, 17 in assembled condition.
