Abstract

1,190,961. Laminated containers; packages. BOISE CASCADE CORP. 25 May, 1967 [25 May, 1966], No. 24332/67. Headings B8C and B8D. A pressurized dough container has a spirally wound body layer 13 of fibrous board material whose moisture content is not substantially greater than before the body is formed so maintaining the stiffness of the board material; adjacent edges of the body layer 13 form a butt joint 13a to provide a line of weakness, and spiral layers 12, 14 which form a liner and label respectively, provide a barrier to the passage of moisture. The body layer 13 may be coated on both sides at 13b, 13c with a dry bond adhesive. The liner 12 may be of aluminium foil 126 laminated to paper 12c; the body layer 13 may be of kraft board coated with polyethylene 136, 13c; and the label 14 may be of aluminium foil 146 laminated to kraft paper 14c. The container has metal end closures 11 and is opened by striking the wall at 13a (marked on the label 14) on, for instance, a table edge, or by thumb pressure at 13d.
