Abstract

1,190,629. Ingot moulds. GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE STERKRADE A.G. 21 June, 1967 [24 Nov., 1966], No. 28528/67. Addition to 1,007,357. Heading B3F. In order to preserve a straight line contour 2 of an ingot of ferrous alloy, such as alloy steel, the inside surface of an ingot mould of nodular iron or cast steel is concave in longitudinal section 9. Fig. 5, the ingot contour line 2 lying at least partially behind the inside surface as indicated. The line 2 may be tangential to the section 9 or completely behind it, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown). The inside surface is convex in crosssection 9<SP>1</SP>, as indicated by the top, middle and bottom sections shown in Fig. 10 (wherein 6 represents the ingot contour) at the top and bottom of the mould.
