Rods 2 roll down slope 1 and are discharged one by one by the co-operation of slide 5 operated by cylinder 4, and of slide pieces 8, 9, 10 operated by cylinder 6. The device operates as an escapement, the slide pieces` 8, 9 and 10 working as one. By suitable adjustment of the height of 8, 9 or 10 the escapement may operate for rods of different diameters.
