Abstract

1,187,060. Pill dispenser. NOVO TERAPEUTISK LABORATORIUM A.S. 4 July, 1967 [5 July, 1966], No. 30769/67. Heading B8P. A tablet dispenser of the kind having a body 10 with a circular series of pockets '27 and a cover 11 which is rotatable with respect to the body so that a discharge aperture in the cover can be brought to uncover any of the tablet pockets, has a protruding stop 29 on the cover and in immediate proximity to one side of the discharge aperture, the stop being so arranged as to be capable of coming into abutment against a tablet 26 in a pocket when the cover is rotated. The arrangement ensures that a pill must be extracted before the cover can rotate further. The dispenser incorporates an indicator 17 with, e.g., the days of the week thereon and the body and the cover are interconnected by a ratchet mechanism to prevent rotation in the reverse direction. In a modification, Figs. 4-7 (not shown), the indicator is mounted eccentrically on top of the cover.
