1,186,209. Releasable fastenings. B. KEWLEY. 11 June, 1968 [17 June, 1967; 30 Aug., 1967], Nos. 28013/67 and 39572/67. Heading E2A. A fastening device for a transom window comprises a guide housing 11 securable to the fixed frame of the window in the region of the window staybar and being provided with a base 14 having a first slot 15 extending along a portion of the bore and communicating with the exterior of the housing, a retaining member in the form of a rod 19 having an enlargement 21 at one end displaceable with the rod in the bores and having a hook portion 20 at the other end outside of the bore and engageable over said staybar, and a collar 17 around the rod being slidable in the bore with a handle 18 projecting through and slidable in the first slot and rotatable out of an end of the first slot remote front the hook portion into a second slot 16 substantially transverse to the first slot and also communicating with the exterior of the housing, for retention of the rod enlargement at said end.
