Abstract

1,184,818. Spray-producers. INDUSTRIEISOLIERUNGEN LEIPZIG VEB. 18 Aug., 1967, No. 38072/67. Heading B2F. A spray device suitable for spraying a binder to be mixed with fibres discharged from a pipe (4) Fig. I (not shown) to produce an insulating substance, comprises a plurality of nozzles 9 to each of which binder and compressed air are fed by pipes 1 and 2 respectively, and a binder supply tube 12 extending by an adjustable amount into an air passage in a tube 3 upstream of each nozzle 9. The position of each tube 12 may be adjusted according to the pressure of the binder supply, the tube extending at right angles into the said passage. The pipes 1 and 2 are curved, support all the nozzles 9, and are mounted on the pipe (4) which forms a cylindrical support. The nozzles 9 produce streams of atomized binder which converge at a point on the extended axis of the pipe (4).
