Abstract

1,184,793. Drafting aprons. JAMES MACKIE & SONS Ltd. 4 Oct., 1967 [13 Oct., 1966], No. 45864/66. Addition to 993,844. Heading D1D. The rigid support 4 which is grooved at 8 along the line of the fibrous material to be drafted is formed on one or both sides of the groove with one or more transverse slots 12 in its apron engaging surface. The sharp edges of the open ended slots exert a scraping action on the apron to remove dirt. The corners 15 are rounded to reduce the frictional drag. The slots may be at right angles or inclined slightly to the direction of movement of the apron.
