Abstract

118,289. Rogers, C. R. July 24, 1917, [Convention date]. Paints. - Precipitated pigments such as white lead are ground up with oil without drying them. When the precipitate and oil are well mixed a small quantity of borax or other weakly alkaline salt is sprinkled on the mass and the milling continued. The water contained in the moist precipitate separates from the paste and is poured off.
