Projectiles. - Consists in providing explosive projectiles with a lining b of glass or other vitreous substance t o prevent chemical action between the charge and the metal of the shell, and also to form an impervoous jacket. The glass liner is preferably blown within the shell, previously heated. A packing of resin or other substance may form an intermediate jacket between the glass liner and the metal.
