Abstract
1,181,563. Devices for anastomosis, and apparatus for handling such devices. H. PFAU-WANFRIED G.m.b.H. 15 Feb., 1967 [8 March, 1966], No. 7358/67. Heading A5R. [Also in Division F2] A device for anastomosing canalicular organs, see Fig. 1, comprises a sleeve 3 which is adapted to be adhesively attached about the end of a canalicular organ and a bush 7 for coupling sleeve 3 to a similar sleeve 4 or other element attached to the other canalicular organ to be joined. In a modification, see Figs. 2-4 (not shown) for effecting "end-toside" anastomosis, the coupling bush is integral with the element attached to one of the organs to be connected, the element being in the form of a curved plate with a hole in it surrounded by a hollow cylinder. Apparatus for handling the device for "end-to-side" anastomosis, see Fig. 7, comprises two parts 23, 24 relatively movable to each other, part 23 being provided with a support 26 on which is mounted parts 29', 29" for gripping the element in the form of a curved plate and part 24 being provided with a roller 27 for mounting the end of an organ. The roller may be provided with a cover 28 of elastic material.
