Abstract

Anthelmintic compositions comprise piperazine carbodithioic acid (the complex resulting from the reaction of equimolar amounts of piperazine and CS 2 ), and a benzimidazole of the general formula: wherein R is a mono- or bi-cyclic carbocyclic aryl radical, e.g. phenyl or naphthyl, an orthohaloaryl radical, a heteroaromatic radical containing 1 to 3 heteroatoms which are N, S or O, (e.g. furyl, thienyl, pyrryl, pyridyl, coumarinyl, thiacoumarinyl, thiazolyl, isothiazolyl and thiadiazolyl), R 5 and R 6 are H, C 1-5 alkyl, C 1-5 alkoxy, C 1-5 alkylthio, phenoxy, phenylthio, halo, phenyl, halophenyl or thienyl, only one of R 5 and R 6 being other than H, and R 2 is H, C 1-5 alkyl, C 1-5 alkanoyl or benzoyl. They may be in conventional solid and liquid forms for oral administration to animals, including enteric preparations and mixed with animal feeds.
