Abstract

1,175,862. Slide projector. EASTMAN KODAK CO. Feb.9, 1967 [Feb. 9, 1966], No.6354/67. Heading G2J. A slide projector for use with slides of varying thickness comprises a slide changing member slideable in a channel for positioning slides in and withdrawing slides from the gate, said member having a means for engaging the slide to be projected and urging it towards the gate, resilient means in the channel for urging the slide into contact with the member and for preventing the return of the slide on retraction of the member, and means for preventing subsequent slides from being frictionally drawn towards the gate with the slide to be projected. In the detail shown in Fig. 3, the slide engaging means 11 is an inverted truncated cone-shaped washer which engages the bottom slide of a stack in the magazine 3. The channel contains a horizontal H-shaped resilient member (10, Fig.2, not shown), which urges the slide against the slidechanging member 6 as it moves towards the gate 2. The slide is positioned in the gate by stops, blade springs 2a and the ends (10b) of the H-shaped member, which ends, prevent the slide's return on the withdrawal of the member 6. On re-insertion of the member 6 the projected slide is engaged by blade springs on the reverse side of the member 6 such that on subsequent withdrawal thereof, the slide is withdrawn and placed in a store magazine axially aligned with the magazine 3. Subsequent slides are prevented from moving with the slide to be projected by a spring member 7a.
