Abstract

1,175,231. Metal lintels. PAINTER BROS. Ltd., G. E. PAYNE, E. J. PREECE and R. J. PAYNE. 17 April, 1968 [17 April, 1967; 18 Jan., 1968], Nos. 17532/67 and 2690/68. Headings E1B and E1K. A metal lintel comprises a first member including a front plate 10, channel 15, sloping damp course portion 11 and rearwardly projecting portion 12 welded to a rearwardly extending plate portion 13, the weld being reinforced by spaced struts 14. Alternatively the rear plate may be integral with the front plate and the damp course portion 11 welded thereto or the rear plate may be integral with the damp course portions and the front plate welded thereto.. The rear plate has punched holes 16 or may have expanded metal or scrim to key plaster thereto.
