Abstract

1,174,545. Screen printing. P. ZIMMER. 13 Feb., 1968 [15 Feb., 1967], No. 7076/68. Heading B6C. Each of two mountings 3 for rotary printing screen 1 fits between an end of the screen 1 and a flange 6 attached to the screen 1 and the screen is tensioned by contact of the mountings 3 with the flanges 6. Thrust bearings 7 may be carried by either the mountings 3 or the flanges 6, and may be roller or ball bearings. Each flange 6 may be removable, e.g. by a bayonet action, and one or both of the flanges 6 may have teeth around its periphery and act as a gear-wheel in driving the screen 1. The mountings 3 may be slidable relative to the frame of the printing machine of which they form part, so as to tension the screen 1.
