1,173,121. Polyesters of hydroxybenzoic acids. CARBORUNDUM CO. 28 Feb., 1969 [1 March, 1967], No. 9595/68. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C3] Metachlorophenyl para-acetoxybenzoate is prepared by esterifying para-acetoxy benzoic acid with metachlorophenol in the presence of methylene chloride and dicyclohexyl-carbodiimide. (Para-carbophenoxy) phenyl metaacetoxybenzoate is similarly prepared from phenylparahydroxybenzoate and meta-acetoxybenzoic acid.
