Abstract

1,172,559. Ground-drying machines. S. KRAMLING and G. STARROCK. 2 May, 1967, No. 20152/67. Heading E1G. A hand-pushed machine for drying sports stadia, tennis courts &c., comprises a roller 1 having an absorbent coating 3, coaxial ground wheels 2 at each end thereof, support wheels 14, and an adjustable pressure roller 8 which expresses water from the coating 3 into a tank 11. The roller 1 is cleaned by a rotatable brush 10. As shown the tank is external of the rollers, the roller 8 is shorter than the roller 1 so that water-retaining beads are formed at the edges of the coating 3, and an adjustable run-off sheet 13 is provided. In a modification the tank is mounted inside the roller 1.
