Abstract

1,171,908. Lathe tools. J. L. ENG. CO. Ltd. 7 Dec., 1966 [11 Dec., 1965], No. 52699/65. Heading B3T. Tool holder means adapted to be mounted, e.g., in the turret of a lathe to be fed axially relative to a workpiece held in the lathe has a head portion having a plurality of eccentric circular bores carrying a plurality of tool holders which can be adjusted relative to the head angularly and axially, clamping means being provided to each bore for securing the shank of a toolholder therein in adjusted position. The toolholder means comprises a mounting shank 2 and a head 1, the latter having eccentric bores 4 in which individual toolholders 6 are mounted by shanks 5. The toolholders 6 which carry tools 8, are longitudinally and angularly adjustable in the bores 4 being clamped in the required position by screw-operated clamping pads located in radial bores which partly intersect the eccentric bores 4 (Fig. 2, not shown). The head 1 also has an axial bore 3 adapted to receive a bush 14 for mounting a drill, tap or reamer.
