Abstract

1,171,372. Extracting iron. RUTHNER INDUSTRIEPLANUNGS - A. G. Oct. 13, 1967 [Dec.27, 1966], No.46901/67. Heading C7D. [Also in Division C1] Iron is produced by evaporating and oxidising an aqueous solution of FeCl 2 , wetting and pelleting the iron oxide so produced, then either (a) mixing the pellets with coke and sintering or (b) burning the pellets by direct heating with hot H 2 , and finally charging the pellets into a blast furnace. Powdered Fe or lime or coke dust may be added before pelleting. The FeCl 2 may be obtained in the pickling of steel.
