A panel suitable for use as a glazing unit for a window or to replace the glazing e.g. of a vehicle windscreen or of a window frame comprises a transparent flexible sheet 101 or a translucent or opaque sheet having at least one aperture 115, 116 in it and a second transparent flexible sheet 103 made solid with the sheet 101, and has a stiffening boarder constituted by an inflatable peripheral cushion 105 complementary to the rim 108 of the surrounding wall 107 of the window aperture, and presents when inflated external dimensions slightly greater than those of the aperture. Internal stiffening cushions 106 whose interiors are connected with the interior of the cushion 105, may be provided. The cushions 105, 106 are formed by hermetically sealing along the appropriate lines, the two sheets of flexible material, and a moisture absorbing filter 121 so arranged within the inflating end piece 122.
