Abstract

1,170,073. Upholstery supports. PIRELLI Ltd. 19 Jan., 1967 [23 Feb., 1966], No. 7870/66. Addition to 918,743. Heading A4M. A elastomeric sheet or strip having peripheral areas 3 which are harder than its central area 1, as claimed in the parent patent, has depending lugs 2 formed integrally with the peripheral areas 3 for anchoring engagement in slots 7 in a wooden frame 6. The lug 2 may, as shown, be inclined inwardly or may be perpendicular to the sheet or strip. The periphery of the sheet may be square, polygonal or a closed curve. The lugs 2 are provided on two or more edges. The lugs 2 may be continuous along the edges or a plurality of lugs 2 may be spaced apart along the edges. The underside of the sheet may have integral, thickened, intersecting strips (4, Fig. 8) extending between opposite peripheral areas 3.
