Abstract
1,169,743. Reactors. ASSOCIATED ENG. Ltd. 1 Feb., 1967, No. 4691/66. Addition to 1,018,738. Heading H1T. In one modification of the inductive probe claimed in the parent Specification 1,018,738, an outer layer or sleeve of a metal having a magnetic permeability of approximately unity is located around the coil and core assembly. The metal may be substantially non-magnetic stainless steel, and the parts within the metal sleeve may be embedded in a high-temperature glaze. The spacer members 4, 5 or the former for the coil may also be of such a metal. In another modification a temperature transducer is formed by an assembly of the probe claimed in the parent Specification and a temperature measuring device 25 e.g. a thermistor or thermocouple while in a further modification an acceleration transducer (Fig. 2, not shown), is formed by an assembly of the probe claimed in the parent Specification, or the modified probe, and a seismic mass (30) on a diaphragm (31), or, alternatively, two such probes, arranged with their active faces adjacent each other, may support a seismic mass (33) (Fig. 3, not shown) mounted in a coil spring (32).
