1,167,253. Cleaning cattle sheds. ALFA-LAVAL A.B. 11 Oct., 1967 [19 Oct., 1966], No. 46460/67. Addition to 1,095,685. Heading A4F. [Also in Division A1] The dung remover of parent Specification 1095685 is modified for use when the surface to be cleaned is required to be cleared from both ends towards the middle. The V-shaped drag bucket 6a consists of two scrapers 6a<SP>1</SP> and 6a<SP>11</SP> each of which can be pivoted through 180‹, and at each end of each stroke they lie close together with their common pivot at the outside end. In moving from either end position the free ends of the scrapers encounter resistance so that thev open to form a trailing-apex V as in Fig. 3 of the parent Specification. However, at the middle of the path the rollers 8<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP> at these free ends enter recess 17<SP>1</SP>, 17<SP>11</SP> in the guide surfaces 9<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP> and cause reversal of the scrapers so that they complete their stroke in an apex-leading configuration. In the centre of the path is a grate 13 which overlies a sewer or dung conveyer.
