Drilling-machines.-In a work-centring tool, preferably of the "roller-steady " type, the drillsupporting chuck f, carrying the drill g, and the roller-steadying devices, which may have selfcentring jaws b carrying rollers c, are mounted on a sleeve d so as to be capable of a small lateral and rotary movement, in order that rotating work, even if slightly out of truth, may be accurately centred. The sleeve d is coupled to a fixed member h, k, by a ball l engaging seatings such as conical recesses m, a spring j for keeping the ball on its seatings, and pins n loosely engaging holes o.
