Abstract

1,163,184. Clamps. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO. Ltd. 2 May, 1968 [4 May, 1967], No. 20779/67. Heading E2B. In a casing of the kind consisting of two dished shells 1, 2 which are assembled with their open ends overlapping to form a closed casing, the shells are secured together by a spring retaining ring 4 disposed within the overlapping portions of the shells and trapped between abutments on the overlapping portions. As shown, in which the casing may be that of a fluid pressure-operated motor e.g.: a 'booster for vehicle braking-systems, the abutments for the spring ring 4 are constituted by a flange 3 on the shell 1 and recesses 5 formed in the shell 2.
