Abstract

1,162,252. Perpetual calendars. W.A. DOODY. Sept.2, 1966 [Sept.13, 1965], No. 39235/66. Heading G3T. A perpetual calendar comprises a base A on which the numbers 1-30 are marked, a disc C marked with the days of the week, the disc being rotatably mounted on the base-plate and a pointer E rotatable concentrically with the disc. An eye E<1> of the pointer enframes a day of the week and the corresponding date numeral. A second disc (D, Fig.2, not shown), marked with the names of the months, which are displayed in an aperture B in the base A, is rotatably mounted on the back of the base A, those months having 31 days being preceeded by the number 31. After setting the calendar at the end of each month a pin H is inserted through aligned apertures in the discs C, (D) and the base A. In a modification, the window B only displays the numeral 31 when a second window, formed in aligned apertures in the base A and the disc C, displays the name of a month having 31 days. The calendar may be made of cardboard, metal, plastics, &c. and may be driven by clockwork or time switch mechanisms.
