Abstract

1,161,317. Dipstick cleaners. G. S. CHASE. 9 Nov., 1966 [10 Nov., 1965], No. 47591/65. Heading A4F. A dipstick cleaner comprises an oil resistant blade 1 which is provided with dipstick engaging notches 6, 7 and an oil container 2 which collects oil wiped by the blade from a dipstick. The blade may be made of synthetic rubber and the oil container may be made of metal or synthetic plastics material. The cleaner may be attached to a motor vehicle by adhesive or screws or by means of a grooved portion 3 of the blade or by means of a hook provided on the container. The blade may be mounted adjacent a funnel portion 9 provided in the container or may be mounted transversely of an opening of the container.
