Abstract

1,160,355. Extruding. KABEL-UND METTALWERKE GUTEHOFFNUNGSHUTTE A.G. 25 Jan., 1968 [26 Jan., 1967], No. 3990/68. Heading B3P. An extrusion die assembly comprises a die holder 2 housing an extrusion die 1 with a frusto-conical entrance surface 3 engaged by a corresponding surface 5 on an insert sleeve 4. The latter has a conical external surface engaging a holder 6 mounted within a clamping part 7. Die holder 2 is aligned with a pressure plate 9 by a guide 8. The die 1, sleeve 4 and guide 1 are easily replaced. Die 1 may be of nickelchrome steel, high speed steel or of cast or sintered carbide. The holders 2, 6 may be in one piece.
