Abstract
1,159,928. Hydrogen peroxide. OXYSYNTHESE SOC. ANON. 8 Nov., 1966 [29 Nov., 1965], No. 50058/66. Heading C1A. In a cyclic process for the preparation of H 2 O 2 using a quinone, the solvent system recovered from used working solutions or a solution of fresh anthraquinone compounds which may be contaminated by S-containing compounds, is purified by contact with an alkaline aluminosilicate. The latter may be a synthetic sodium aluminosilicate. It may be used as a powder of 100-300Á in a column and used in an amount equivalent to at least 500 Kg. per cubic metre of contaminated solution. Treatment may be from 20‹ C. to the b.p. of the soln. (e.g. at 40-60‹ C.). The solvent may contain methylcyclohexanol acetate; the quinone may be anthraquinone or 2-ethyl anthraquinone.
