Abstract

1,158,804. Electromagnetic relays. C. P. CLARE & CO. 2 Sept., 1966 [21 Oct., 1965], No. 39336/66. Heading H1N. To prevent damage to the glass to metal seals when sealed magnetic contact units are mounted in the coil bobbin of a relay, end plates 22 are located on and secured to the ends 16 of coil bobbin by deformable pins 28 so that the terminals 36a of the units pass through apertures 40 in terminal connectors 24 carried by the end plates. The apertures 40, being larger than the terminals 36a allow the units to assume an unstressed position prior to securing the terminals 36a to the connectors by a surrounding mass of solder using a solder wave machine. The coil leads are wrapped around apertured bosses 26a in connectors 26 carried by the end plates. The connectors have portions 24d 26d which are adapted to be mounted in apertures on a printed circuit board. The connectors are made of magnetic material to improve the magnetic circuit.
