Abstract

1,157,797. Rotary pumps. EISENWERKE KAISERSLAUTERN, G.m.b.H. Oct.17, 1966 [Oct.29, 1965], No.46242/66. Heading F1F. A rotary pump of Root's type for conveying corrosive or viscous fluids or fluids having particles in suspension, comprises an oval housing 1, Fig. 3, having its inner surfaces 11 coated with enamel and a pair of rotors 2, 2<SP>1</SP>, made of non- corrosive, wear-resistant, synthetic plastics material, e.g., P. T. F. E, mounted on spaced apart parallel shafts driven at equal speeds in opposite directions. The rotors have a single vane of substantially semi-circular shape with the vane on one rotor subtending an angle slightly less than 180 degrees and the vane on the other rotor subtending an angle approximately 180 degrees. The working faces 25, Fig. 2 of the vanes are rectangular, with shallow recesses 26 and approximately S-shape in cross-section.
