Abstract

1,156,808. Pipe &c. couplings. M. BOCHORY. 18 July, 1966 [16 July, 1965], No. 32103/66. Heading F2G. [Also in Division E2] A fixing device for a cylindrical unit, e.g. a pipe 10, comprises a member 20 having a bore 21 and innermost and outermost axially adjacent counterbores 23, 22 respectively concentric and eccentric with respect to the bore 21, the counterbore 22 being of larger diameter than the counterbore 23, and a cylindrical member 16 having a bore 17 for receiving the pipe and also having innermost and outermost axially-adjacent exterior surfaces one of which is eccentric and the other concentric with the bore and such that the member 16 will fit into the counterbores of the member 20. Upon rotation of the member 16 relative to the member 20 and about the axis of the pipe, the two members and the pipe becomes jammed together. As shown, to prevent withdrawal of the pipe the latter has a flange 11. In a modification, the cylindrical member carries in a groove in the bore thereof an 0-ring for sealing against the pipe and, in a groove in the concentric surface thereof, a second 0-ring for sealing against the corresponding surface of the other member.
