Abstract

1,156,219. Carrier bag handles. THOMAS NORMAN & SON (FALCON) Ltd. 31 May, 1967, No. 25001/67. Heading A4G. A handle for attachment to carrier bags or boxes comprises a band 1 of flexible material having at each end cross-pieces 3 extending laterally beyond and in a plane perpendicular to the side edges of the band, and an upper parallelly spaced lug 4 extending from the outer surface of the band. The pieces 3 pass through and underly slots in two superimposed closure flaps of the bag and lug 4 rests on top of the top flap. The gripping portion 2 of the handle is upwardly concave with portion 7 flat for carrying advertisements or the like. Pieces 3 are reinforced by ribs 5 and the edge of lugs 4 chamfered.
