Abstract

1,155,573. Lamps. GENERAL TIME CORP. 30 Aug., 1966 [21 Feb., 1966], No. 38680/66. Heading F4R. [Also in Division G3] Vertical pressure on the housing 10 of an alarm clock (see Division G3) switches on a lamp 75 to illuminate the clock dial and shut off the alarm. The manual pressure applied to the housing moves a tray 70, biased outwardly by springs 101, 102, inwardly with respect to a housing 60. A blade 111 of a switch 110 touches a contact (112), Fig. 5 (not shown), to connect the lamp to a battery 80. In a modification, a spring-loaded plunger extends from the base of the clock so that the alarm is switched off and the dial illuminated by lifting the clock away from the surface on which it stands.
