Abstract

1,155,062. Forming and finishing yarns. COURTAULDS Ltd. 28 Sept., 1966 [29 Sept., 1965], No. 41341/65. Heading D1F. In apparatus for entangling or interlacing the constituent continuous filaments of a loosely twisted yarn or bundle to produce fancy yarn, an outer member 1 is manually rotated by means of an arm 12 about a coaxial inner member 2 and against the restoring action of a spring 18 from a "closed" position in which a yarn &c. carrying bore or passage 3 is in communication with a hole 15 which receives a nipple for the connection of an air supply line (not shown) to an "open" position in which such communication is cut off and slots 13 and 14 are aligned to enable lateral introduction and positioning cf the yarn for subsequent travel through central holes in an eye 4 and notched guide plate 5 and passage 3. A disc accommodated in a counterbored portion 16 may be replaced by a disc having a different, selected size hole therein, so that the intensity of interlacing &c. may be varied.
