Abstract

1,153,024. Fuels. ESSO RESEARCH & ENG. CO. 28 April, 1967 [5 May, 1966], No. 19770/67. Heading C5G. A fuel comprises gasoline and a minor proportion of a gasoline-soluble C 6 -C 50 tertiary amine oxide. Extensive lists of amine oxides are given, the preferred examples being dimethyl cocoamine oxide, bis-(2-hydroxyethyl)- tallow amine .oxide and bis-(2-hydroxyethyl) cocoamine oxide. The fuel may also contain tetra-alkyl lead compounds, tetravinyl lead, triethyl vinyl lead, organo-metallic compounds containing lead, iron, nickel, lithium or manganese, t-butyl acetate, tri-#-chloro ethyl phosphate, isopropanol and hexylene glycol.
