Abstract

1,152,268. Vehicle suspension. BRODERNA FORSS A.B. 2 Nov., 1966 [4 Nov., 1965], No. 49062/66. Heading B7D. A suspension for heavy vehicles comprises a wheel set frame 8 having a pair of spring mountings 4 in which are secured abutments 6 upon which bears a leaf spring assembly 5. An axle 1 is secured to the spring 5 by means of clips 3 and at each side of the longitudinal centre line an axle seat 2 is welded to the axle. A tie rod 10 is mounted upon bolts 9 secured to the forward member 4 and axle seat 2, by means of resilient bushes 11 and clips 12 which are fluted on their inner surface. The tie rod 10 comprises a flexible strip 15 of steel having at its ends complementary fluting 20 to engage the fluting on the clips 12. The clips 12 and strip 15 are gripped together by bolts 13, the holes through which they pass in the strip being, at one end, elongated to facilitate length adjustment of the tie rod.
